Series Spanners

If you're working on a Series gearbox you will quickly find that your A/F spanner set will simply not do anything.

Enter Mr Whitworth... (history of spanners elsewhere - Google it)

You will need at least five of his spanners:

3/16 - detent spring retainers and txfr box sump

1/4 - lots of things on the front output shaft housing (for that pesky oil seal!)

5/16 x 2 - a plain one for selector forks and back of transfer box and and a home-cranked one to get at the nuts inside the transfer box which hold it on to the gearbox)

3/8 - Nuts holding the mounting brackets on to the transfer box.

Try second-hand tool shops and Tardme.

If you find same sizes in sockets - get them as well!
