Rob's Series engine rebuild

Rob has acquired a 2.25 3MB Series engine; orginally located in "Henry" a '73 S3 LWB ute which Neil Abbott rescued from death-by-Kaikyu in a Rodney paddock some years ago.

Henry's engine is now undergoing a rebuild with, it is hoped, some extra tweaks to bring it up from the original 67hp (ouch!) to something more substantial like 90 or possibly more...

Here's the easy starting off bits:

Rob gets stuck in

 

 clean and dry and head excised

 Peer into the bores- what will we find?

Hmm - +1.0mm oversize already and a distinct lip in the bores - could be a problem!

Update August 2010:

All on hold! Engine is probably too far overbored/overworked now to be viable. And Rob's other projects (like get Rangi wleded up and Landee back on the highway) have taken priority :))
