NOTES:

Saturday, a Grade 1. Trip to explore State Highway 38 and associated side tracks, from Minginui to Lake Waikaemoana.

Some tracks are well maintained park board access roads, others are disused logging tracks.

Heaps of really good scenery, and historical interest, with the odd stroll to water falls etc added in.

Sunday we will have a look around Whirinaki forest and maybe find a mud hole to play in. Then make our way over to the Matahina  Dam and up the coast Tauranga and home.

We will be staying at the Whirinaki Recreation Camp.   This has 3 huts with 9 bunks each. A covered outdoor cooking area, and flush toilets.

We have booked the camp for two nights, in case anyone wants to travel down after work on Friday. Should anyone want to travel on Friday let me know. If there are not enough takers I will cancel the Friday booking.

$25 per vehicle
